Cold War Kids Biography

Cold War Kids are a critically praised indie rock band from Fullerton, California, USA. They have released three EPs via Monarchy Music, and they appeared at the 2006 SXSW music festival and the 2006 Lollapalooza music festival. Cold War Kids ticket sales helped drive the success of both festivals. In 2006 they signed to Downtown Records. They have had Cold War Kids concerts in support of Tokyo Police Club and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Their music is heavily inspired by blues, and their stripped down sound has garnered both critics and fans. The influential music blog Pitchfork Media gave their debut album a middling 5.0 out of a possible 10.

Lollapalooza described their sound as, "...clappy, clangy and jangly."

In addition to the aforementioned three EPs, in early 2006 the Cold War Kids released Robbers and Cowards. They performed on The Late Show with David Letterman on December 21, 2006.
