They Might Be Giants playing live April 21st, 2012!

You may not know this, but Record Store Day is right around the corner. And if I had to guess, if you didn't know that, you also don't know that it's a big deal. In fact, it's such a big deal that we've got giants coming to celebrate with us! They Might Be Giants, a family-friendly band with a Platinum album, 4 million records sales, and a Grammy will be performing for FREE in front of the Princeton Public Library! Then, if you're as big a fan of their work as we are, join us back at Princeton Record Exchange for an in-store signing with the legends themselves!

At this point, a very small percentage of you may be wondering, "wait, who are these guys?" I'm glad you asked - but the truth of the matter is you've probably heard them and just don't know it. Have you ever seen the intro to the hit TV show "Malcolm in the Middle"? That's them. Have you ever gotten "The Daily Show's" opening song stuck in your head? That's them. Have you ever sung "Istanbul Not Constantinople" to yourself in the shower? After seeing them, my bet's you will!

We'd like to mention a special thanks to our friends at Princeton Public Library who have graciously agreed to host the concert. For you out-of-towners, that'sHinds Plaza (65 Witherspoon St., just two blocks from the store). The performance will run from 6:00 to 6:45 pm no matter the weather. And if you'll allow me to misquote Yogi Berra, it ain't over til it's over after it's over. That's because after they finish, they'll meet-greet-and-sign autographs for fans at Princeton Record Exchange from around 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In addition to TMBG, Record Store Day will also feature hundreds of limited edition vinyl records from the most talented musicians of our time. If you're interested in one of the limited edition releases, we highly recommend you arrive early to maximize your chances of buying a copy. It's first come, first serve, so we look forward to seeing you bright and early!

Gary Allan Biography

Gary Allan (born Gary Allan Herzberg on December 5, 1967) is a country singer from Long Beach, California. Throughout his career, Allan has produced six albums: Used Heart For Sale, It Would Be You, the blockbuster Smoke Rings In The Dark, Alright Guy, See If I Care, and his most recent, Tough All Over.

In 1996, An album produced by Byron Hill and Mark Wright called "Used Heart For Sale" was released. It advanced to the top 20 of the charts. Except for the lead single, "Her Man" (a top 10 hit on Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart), the singles from that album were less successful, because Allan's traditional sounding music was rarely played by radio stations. His second album,"It Would Be You," was released in 1998. The single of the same name became his second top 10 hit that year. At the beginning of 1999, Decca went out of business, and he was subsequently signed into the MCA Label. Garry Allan concerts are as enjoyable as ever, so pick up your Gary Allan tickets and don't miss out!
