They Might Be Giants playing live April 21st, 2012!

You may not know this, but Record Store Day is right around the corner. And if I had to guess, if you didn't know that, you also don't know that it's a big deal. In fact, it's such a big deal that we've got giants coming to celebrate with us! They Might Be Giants, a family-friendly band with a Platinum album, 4 million records sales, and a Grammy will be performing for FREE in front of the Princeton Public Library! Then, if you're as big a fan of their work as we are, join us back at Princeton Record Exchange for an in-store signing with the legends themselves!

At this point, a very small percentage of you may be wondering, "wait, who are these guys?" I'm glad you asked - but the truth of the matter is you've probably heard them and just don't know it. Have you ever seen the intro to the hit TV show "Malcolm in the Middle"? That's them. Have you ever gotten "The Daily Show's" opening song stuck in your head? That's them. Have you ever sung "Istanbul Not Constantinople" to yourself in the shower? After seeing them, my bet's you will!

We'd like to mention a special thanks to our friends at Princeton Public Library who have graciously agreed to host the concert. For you out-of-towners, that'sHinds Plaza (65 Witherspoon St., just two blocks from the store). The performance will run from 6:00 to 6:45 pm no matter the weather. And if you'll allow me to misquote Yogi Berra, it ain't over til it's over after it's over. That's because after they finish, they'll meet-greet-and-sign autographs for fans at Princeton Record Exchange from around 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In addition to TMBG, Record Store Day will also feature hundreds of limited edition vinyl records from the most talented musicians of our time. If you're interested in one of the limited edition releases, we highly recommend you arrive early to maximize your chances of buying a copy. It's first come, first serve, so we look forward to seeing you bright and early!

Keith Urban Biography

Keith Lionel Urban (born 26 October 1967), is a New Zealand-born, Australia-raised country music singer. Keith Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand. By age seven, Urban was already dreaming about sold out Keith Urban concerts and making his mark in Nashville. He began learning the techniques at age six and began winning young singing contests by age eight. By 12 he was booking his band in local clubs, and at 15 he quit school to hit the road. In 1990, Urban signed with EMI in Australia and recorded his first solo album, which charted four No. 1 country hits in Australia. In 1992, he moved to Nashville to pursue the largest country music market in the world. Originally the front man for The Ranch, a three-piece group that released one album in 1997 to critical acclaim, Urban disbanded the group to pursue a solo career.

After reaching a personal nadir in 1998, he became determined to give up the habit and checked into Cumberland Heights, a treatment center in Nashville. After cleaning up, Urban released his self-titled American debut in 2000, which produced three top 5 hits and secured for him the Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards and the 2001 Country Music Association's Horizon Award . Widely regarded for his guitar skills, he has performed as a session musician on albums such as Garth Brooks' Double Live, the Dixie Chicks' Fly, and Paul Brandt's This Time Around.
