They Might Be Giants playing live April 21st, 2012!

You may not know this, but Record Store Day is right around the corner. And if I had to guess, if you didn't know that, you also don't know that it's a big deal. In fact, it's such a big deal that we've got giants coming to celebrate with us! They Might Be Giants, a family-friendly band with a Platinum album, 4 million records sales, and a Grammy will be performing for FREE in front of the Princeton Public Library! Then, if you're as big a fan of their work as we are, join us back at Princeton Record Exchange for an in-store signing with the legends themselves!

At this point, a very small percentage of you may be wondering, "wait, who are these guys?" I'm glad you asked - but the truth of the matter is you've probably heard them and just don't know it. Have you ever seen the intro to the hit TV show "Malcolm in the Middle"? That's them. Have you ever gotten "The Daily Show's" opening song stuck in your head? That's them. Have you ever sung "Istanbul Not Constantinople" to yourself in the shower? After seeing them, my bet's you will!

We'd like to mention a special thanks to our friends at Princeton Public Library who have graciously agreed to host the concert. For you out-of-towners, that'sHinds Plaza (65 Witherspoon St., just two blocks from the store). The performance will run from 6:00 to 6:45 pm no matter the weather. And if you'll allow me to misquote Yogi Berra, it ain't over til it's over after it's over. That's because after they finish, they'll meet-greet-and-sign autographs for fans at Princeton Record Exchange from around 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In addition to TMBG, Record Store Day will also feature hundreds of limited edition vinyl records from the most talented musicians of our time. If you're interested in one of the limited edition releases, we highly recommend you arrive early to maximize your chances of buying a copy. Rascal Flatts Biography

Rascal Flatts is an American Country band composed of lead vocalist Gary LeVox (real name: Gary Wayne Vernon, Jr.) (born July 10, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio), bassist Jay DeMarcus (real name: Stanley Wayne DeMarcus) (born April 27, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio) and electric guitarist Joe Don Rooney (born September 13, 1975, in Baxter Springs, Kansas). Gary LeVox and Jay (Stanley) DeMarcus are second cousins.

The band presently has released 4 full length albums. The band was also on the soundtrack for the Disney movie Cars singing, "Life is a Highway" (the song originally written by Tom Cochrane). Rascal Flatts achieved notoriety in 2003 with their music video, "I Melt". Some fans objected to the video-which starred band member Rooney and model Christina Auria-because it contained brief nudity, and wanted the video banned from CMT and Great American Country. Eventually, Rascal Flatts released an edited version of the video, using pixelization to blur the areas deemed inappropriate, which aired during daytime hours on CMT.
