5 Cool Songs To Graduate To
Not too much happened in my little world, so I decided to make a post about Graduation. The time where we celebrate milestones in ours and others lives. Many people think that certain songs can be used for certain times, a belief that shows through during Graduation. Below is a collection of my favorite graduation songs(because “Pomp and Circumstance” isn’t too fun anymore). The list would be longer, but I go to that many graduations.
5-Graduation(Friends Forever), by Vitamin C.
The most popular song of the season, which is the only time this song is not annoying.
4-Bridge Over Troubled Water, by Simon and Garfunkel.
My mom performed this song on behalf of her music teacher when she graduated high school. It’s a nice song with comforting lyrics. A good song for this event because the life after this will definitely be troubled water.
3-We Are The Champions, by Queen.
Hey, you’ve made it this far. It’s safe to say you have the right to call yourself a champion!
2- Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), by Green Day.
Despite being a sarcastic tribute to less pleasant milestones(deaths, sickness, nasty break-ups, etc.), the song is frequently used otherwise. Another time that this song is popular is prom season.
1-By My Side, from the musical Godspell.
I first heard the song at my dance school’s year-end recital. It was used in a dance tribute to a teacher’s daughter, who goes to college this fall. The dance was very well-choreographed and perfectly fit the song, which displayed the ups and downs felt when a beloved person moves beyond your reach.

Love the lyrics! All the old hymns are new to me, Carmon. Since I was not saved until I was in my 30’ s- and our current church has a“ praise and worship team” - I am unfamiliar with most hymns. Thankfully, my husband grew up Lutheran so he knows…
