Just arrived: Over 7,000 Classical Music CDs

by Brett in Recent Large Collections

The Classical Music CDs drought is over! After an unusually long dry spell, we are pleased to announce the purchase of two enormous Classical CD collections totaling over 7,000 titles.

These collections feature a huge selection of opera and orchestral titles. Obviously with this many pieces it is difficult to give an accurate description, but to touch on some of the highlights.

There are many opera CDs from all of the major operatic composers, Verdi, Mozart, Wagner, etc. Almost all of the recordings are modern, 70’s through the early 90’s, with very few “historical” recordings. Almost all are on the major labels such as DG, Sony, RCA, and others. There are also several hundred singer recital CDs, notably many Callas recordings, the Prima Voce series, and many on the Nimbus label.

The non-operatic titles are comprised of mostly basic repertoire. These recordings are primarily 80’s and 90’s releases, again mostly on major labels. They feature hundreds of classical albums by early 20th century composers such as Hindemith, Zemlinsky, Bussoni, Reger, Respighi, Martin, and many others.

There will be thousands of budget/cheap CDs from these collections featuring hundreds of “light” classical, many operettas, many Strauss waltzes, and much more.

We have processed a few thousand classical recordings already, and will be putting the rest out as fast as possible over the next week or so. Because of space problems, we are fitting these in anywhere we can. If you get a chance to come in, please make sure to look around or ask at the counter. The new releases are jammed in everywhere.

We hope you classical fans get a chance to come in and see us soon.

As always, we are interested in buying your music and movies. If you have any unwanted CDs, DVDs, or LPs gathering dust in your home, bring them in for cash or store credit. No appointment needed for collections less than two hundred pieces. Feel free to call us if you have any questions about selling your merchandise.
