Posted by Brett in
Princeton Record Exchange, one of the top indie music stores in the country, is accepting applications for bloggers!
Over the past year, nearly 2 MILLION people came to our site searching for a wide variety of music. Overwhelmingly, they’ve come with to feel the pulse of contemporary music. Whether they sought Classical, Rock, Jazz, Alternative, Hip Hop, Punk, or any of the hundreds of genres we represent, they still found there way here.
We acknowledge that our indie music store, which primarly buys and sells used CDs, can’t keep up without the help of the community. So we’re inviting you and anyone who’s interested, whether they’ve been to our store or not, to apply to become one of our endorsed bloggers.
If you need to ask, “Whats in it for me?” then you’re probably not right for the position. If you love music, writing, and helping to support the inde music community, then you’re perfect.
To join our team of bloggers, email blog (at) prex (dot) com with the folowing information:
1. What is your name?
2. What is your age?
3. What are your three favorite music genres, in order of preference, and who are some of your favorite musicians from each?
4. How frequently would you be willing to write for the blog?
5. Please compose a sample blog entry that you would write. The style and level of quality in this sample will be expected of your future writings.
Tips:
Write about topics that our visitors will be interested in, and write in a fun and engaging way. Hot topics of the day, recent releases, and up-and-coming musical groups are good picks.
Write about the music or musicians that you know and love. Justified positivity that still mentions specific shortcomings is far better than rambling rants or unexplained perfect reviews.
Have a personality, but don’t forget that people are reading what you have to say about music, not your life. Your experience at a concert is fine, but what you had for breakfast is irrelevant.
Note: All blog entries must be music related, with rare exceptions permitted on a case-by-case basis. Prejudism, pornography, and other discriminatory or illegal content are unacceptable. Any entry that promotes negativity or harm to the store will be removed, as will its writer. We reserve the right to remove and/or edit entries accordingly. Writer takes sole legal responsibility for his/her writing. Princeton Record Exchange, Inc. is granted the exclusive right to use and reuse all submissions made to its blog. Thus, blog entries may not be re-posted on any other site.
