New Arrivals: 9,000 Classical and Opera CDs

 We always enjoy purchasing large classical CD collections and are pleased to have an enormous one to talk about today. Almost all of this 9,000 piece collection is vocal-oriented, either full-length operas or vocal recitals.  As you can imagine with a collection of this size, just about every opera composer is well-represented.  There are dozens (hundreds?) each from Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, etc., but also many titles from somewhat less-common composers such as Janacek, Adam, Thomas, Rameau, Cavalli, and Meyerbeer just to name a few.  Also featured is a healthy dose of early 20^th Century operas.

 About 70% have been priced “cheap”, under $5.00 per disc, with the rest mostly in the $5.99 to $7.99 per disc range.  Over half has been processed already, and we are plowing through the rest now. Most will be out by the weekend. 

We are equipped to handle a lot of merchandise, but this one is putting a strain on even our deep resources.  We have rearranged almost the entire back of the store; the whole back wall is now dedicated to the higher-priced opera and we have moved a couple of thousand records into the middle of the store to allow us to put out thousands more cheap classical CDs.  We have now in stock the largest selection of cheap classical that we have ever had (at least as best as we can remember).
