New Arrivals: Over 10,000 Classical CDs!
by jon in In & Around Our Store, Recent Large Collections, What's New
As many of you regulars know, we normally have an extensive selection of classical CDs in stock; probably the largest in New Jersey. This week we are happy to announce the purchase of a huge collection of 11,300 titles swelling our classical bins to the busting point!
This collection features many “historical” recordings originally made in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. There are many titles of noted violinists such as Spaldine, Thibaud, Heifetz, Milstein, and Barylli; pianists like Kapell, Hess, Haskil, Schnabel, and Barere; and led by the conductors Furtwangler, Bohm, Mengelberg and many others.
There are many major labels represented, but also many more-obscure and a lot of Japanese and other import titles that we rarely see. About 60% have been “budget” priced at under $5.00 a disc with the remainder in the $5.99 to $8.99 range with just a few rarities higher. As you can see in the video, we have been forced to fit these CDs in just about everywhere including many in bins on the floor level. We hate to make you stoop, but trust you will find the effort worthwhile!
Also, although we are featuring the Classical CDs today, you should know we have been buying huge amounts of records, DVDs, and other-genre CDs as well; July and August have been amongst our largest purchasing months ever. Our store is overflowing with all sorts of merchandise!
Hope to see you soon.
Best Regards,
