Hey Colin,
There are several reasons why some of these records are priced cheaply: traditional jazz does not sell near as well as later bop, many are reissues/later pressing, and we are always pressed for space due to the huge amount of merchandise that flows through here.

Your project sounds interesting...good luck with that.

Hope you get a chance to visit us some day :)

Hi Guys,

I've a collection of around 2500 jazz albums and your video shows many of the titles from my own collection. I'm shocked that you sell some for around $1 ! Is that because of condition or just not so popular ?

Even in the deflated UK market most poorly thought of compilations will make £3 and many of the titles that you highlight in your video are £10-ers.

We are building a 'who played with who' / influences catalogue of our collection at the moment and have managed to list around 700 so far. The idea is you search for a musician and see which records they played on and then try to see if you can recognise any influences from their fellow band members in their following work. It started off as a spreadsheet / flow chart ... but got way out of control, so is now a searchable database blog ;-)

I'd kill for the Sun-Ra (or should we say Herman Poole Blount ;-))

I've also got a good Devo collection, so very interested to hear there's more work coming out.

Thanks

Col from across the pond :-)
