Train Service Websites and Phone Numbers:

If traveling by Train to/from Manhattan, New York City:

The total trip to Princeton Record Exchange, including transfer, takes 90 minutes or less from Penn Station, Manhattan.  Both NJ Transit and Amtrak trains leave from Penn Station (34th St. and 8th Ave) and arrive at Princeton Junction which is within a few miles of Princeton Record Exchange.

From Princeton Junction you have a few options to get to our store.

  • You may take a smaller shuttle train (called "the dinky") to Princeton's local train station. This shuttle train meets the incoming trains from NYC and takes about 5 minutes.
  • From the local Princeton station, take a 8 minute walk (see map below), or a short taxi ride (for around $8) to our store.
  • Alternatively, you may take a taxi directly from Princeton Junction (for around $15).

Amtrak provides the fastest service to Princeton Junction, but because their trains are infrequent and significantly more expensive, we recommend using NJ Transit, Northeast Corridor Line.

If traveling by Train to/from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:

Most of our customers from Philadelphia take a SEPTA train to Trenton, transfer to a NJ Transit train to Princeton Junction (one town over from us), and then use the shuttle train into Princeton. The total trip, including transfers, takes about 90 minutes (see map).

There are a few Amtrak trains that will take you directly to Princeton Junction, but most will only take you as close as Trenton and they are all much more expensive. The SEPTA trains that go to Trenton are slower, but they are much cheaper and run much more frequently. From the Trenton Station, transfer to a NJ Transit train on the Northeast Corridor Line towards New York, and get off at Princeton Junction.

Alternatively, you make take a taxi from Trenton to Princeton Record Exchange for about $50.
