Answers:
Where is Princeton,
New Jersey?
We are located in the center of New Jersey, approximate
an hour both from New York City and Philadelphia.
How do I get to the Princeton
Record Exchange?
Princeton Record Exchange is located in Princeton, New
Jersey. We are about an hour from New York City or Philadelphia.
You can get to us by car, train, or bus. We are also within
a 90 minute drive of 4 international airports. Please see
our Directions page for details.
When are your store hours?
We are open 10am-9pm Monday through Saturday and 11am-6pm
on Sunday.
Why should I make
a special trip to your store to buy music CDs and DVDs as
opposed to shopping at my local store?
We have a combination of selection price and condition
quality of our merchandise that makes us a unique independent
store. Music lovers visit us from across the country and
around the world.
Who buys CDs and DVDs closer to where I live?
Many customers visit our New Jersey store with their collections
of CDs, DVDs, records and video games. If you are unable
to visit us in person, please call and ask to speak to an
appraiser, or fill out one of our online questionnaires
(We buy music CDs, We
buy DVDs, and We Buy Records).
How do your prices
compare to my local store?
Most of our used titles sell for 10% to 60% of new prices,
and most of our factory sealed new releases and catelog
are sold at discounted prices.
When do you put out
new merchandise for sale?
As well as carrying a huge selection of new CDs and DVDs,
we purchase hundreds of collections from our customers each
week. We process and put out these titles every day—you
will always find something new.
How
can I find different artists and categories of music and
movies when I visit Princeton Record Exchange?
We have over 20 alphabetized categories of CDs and records
and over 10 categories in our rapidly growing DVD section.
Many categories of music and DVDs that we buy and sell can
be found on our sell CDs, sell
DVDs sitemap or our buy music CDs,
DVDs sitemap pages.
Are your used music and movies
mixed in with your new music and movies?
Both new and used titles are filed together in each category.
Most categories are alphabetized A-Z, and many artists have
their own section.
Do you have hard to find
music and movie titles that are out of print?
We have thousands of out of print CDs, LPs, and DVDs in
most music genres we carry.
Are many of your
CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records scratched, damaged, or otherwise
in poor condition?
We have very high standards for condition and check out
each title very carefully. Lesser quality titles are either
put out in our store at a greatly reduced price or discarded.
All used CDs, DVDs and used LPs go through an intensive
quality-control inspection before they are placed in the
store for sale. Our vintage LP inventory is protected by
clear plastic jackets to prevent shopworn covers. We guarantee
our work: fewer than 1% of our used compact discs and LPs
are returned. Why are we so fussy? So you'll want to visit
us again!
Do you have a lot of
overpriced or unknown music and movies like most used music
stores?
Our store buys thousands of music CDs, LPs and DVDs every
week, so our stock is always changing. We price our merchandise
so that most titles will sell within six months. Titles
that do not sell are marked down regularly, and in some
cases are discarded. If we do not feel the title is likely
to sell at all, then we will not waste your time looking
through unsaleable merchandise as well as valuable space
in our bins.
How knowledgeable
is your staff if I make a special trip to your store?
Most of our staff are serious collectors of music and movies
and have worked at the store for over a decade. You will
find them anxious to help you with your questions.
Do you handle want lists/special
orders?
No, we are sorry, but at this time we are unable to fulfill
want lists or process special orders. We purchase thousands
of items each week and place our emphasis on getting out
those titles as efficiently as possible for our in-store
customers.
