Brooklyn Academy of Music (commonly noted as BAM) is a major performance venue in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Academy of Music is often considered the center for progressive and avant garde performance. Founded in 1861 the first BAM facility at 176-194 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights was designated as the home of the Philharmonic Society of Brooklyn.
