In the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal Street) area of Manhattan stood forever changed. In an effort to overcome the sorrow and revitalize the area, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal founded the TriBeCa Film Festival in 2002. Despite criticisms by some, the TriBeCa Film Festival has been the premier grounds for over one thousand films each year. With its annual Artists Awards program and exclusive panel discussions, the TriBeCa Film Festival is an event any true movie lover dare not miss.
